Küpper Druck Enhances Production Capabilities with the Komori GL-537-H-C Press
Tuesday 27. August 2024 - Komori Europe is excited to announce that Küpper Druck, a prominent offset and digital commercial printer based in Cologne and known for its comprehensive services from prepress to postpress, has recently made a significant upgrade by acquiring the Komori GL-537-H-C press.
Specializing in personalized mailings, brochures, and catalogues, Küpper Druck excels in printing and advanced finishing techniques such as special foldings, die cutting, laser die-cutting, and glueing.
This strategic investment marks a pivotal moment in their long-standing relationship with the Baumann Gruppe, particularly since Baumann Gruppe was announced as Germany’s Komori Competence Center in April 2023.
Addressing Capacity Bottlenecks
Before acquiring the Komori GL-537-H-C, Küpper Druck faced challenges with their B2 format printing operations, which required two shifts and led to outsourcing a significant volume of print work due to capacity constraints.
This not only impacted operational efficiency but also added external dependencies. The introduction of the A1 format with the Komori press enables Küpper Druck to manage existing and external orders in-house within 1.5 shifts, thereby increasing their operational value and efficiency.
Why Komori?
Mr. Dirk Küpper and his son Erik Sommer chose Komori for its precise engineering, low ownership costs, excellent print quality, and user-friendly interface. The A1 print format, high automation features like fully automatic printing plate changes, PQA quality control for colour, register and sheet inspection, and automatic presets were particularly appealing. These features ensure high machine availability and operational efficiency.
Supporting the Transition
Throughout the purchase process, Komori provided extensive support and services. Machine demonstrations showcased the ease of operation and superior print quality of Komori presses, convincing the machine operators of their capabilities. Additionally, Komori’s trained staff were readily available before and during the training sessions to address any questions, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of the new press into Küpper Druck’s operations.
The acquisition of the Komori GL-537-H-C press positions Küpper Druck to better meet customer demands, streamline production, and enhance overall service delivery, reaffirming their commitment to quality and innovation in the printing industry.
