Future-focused: London Packaging Week 2024 to deliver key updates for the future
Wednesday 21. August 2024 - Leading brands, such as LUSH, Kellanova and No.7 Beauty Company, are joined by the likes of Brompton Bicycle, Sun Branding, WRAP & OPRL, to deliver an essential update for the future at the UKs leading luxury, beauty, drinks and FMCG event.
London Packaging Week, the capital’s dynamic hub for packaging innovation, is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated speaker line-up for the 2024 event, taking place on 11 & 12 September at the world-renowned ExCeL London.
This year’s event promises to be the most exciting yet, featuring a dynamic roster of industry leaders, innovators, and trendsetters who are set to inspire and educate attendees with their cutting-edge insights and visionary ideas.

London Packaging Week is set to illuminate the packaging industry this September, with thousands already snapping up free visitor passes for the must-attend exhibition of the year.
The two-day extravaganza, taking place at the ExCeL Centre in London on 11 & 12 September, is to once again draw hundreds of global suppliers and thousands of designers, developers, marketers, founders, and buyers. Easyfairs, the driving force behind the multi-format spectacle, promises an unmissable gathering that will address some of the industry’s challenges.
On Day 1, Cartier Chair Professor of Behavioural Science Ben Voyer will kick things off with his talk, ‘The Science Behind Behaviour: How and Why Consumers Make Choices’ (10:45 to 11:15 am – Luxury Stage), and WRAP CEO Harriet Lamb will discuss the Courtauld Commitment (11:00 to 11:30 am – Food & Consumer Pack Stage), focusing on reducing food waste, greenhouse gas emissions, and water stress across the UK food chain.
Brompton Bicycle Managing Director William Butler-Adams OBE will present on the company’s sustainability-made bike products and their impact on environmental transformation in the packaging industry, also on the Food & Consumer Pack Stage (12:00-12:45 pm). Later, Michelle Atkinson from Diageo and Cory Connors from Orora Packaging Solutions will explore the revolution in luxury packaging design from 12:45 to 1:30 PM on the Luxury Stage.
Elsewhere, Sun Branding will discuss the latest packaging trends on the Food & Consumer Pack Stage from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, while Tiago Russo from The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. will talk about immersive storytelling in packaging at the same time on the Luxury Stage. Later, Laura Riches from Laylo will speak on premium boxed wine (3:15-3:45 pm – Drinks & Beauty Stage), and a panel from LUSH and Prevented Ocean Plastic will discuss eco-conscious packaging initiatives from 3:30 to 4:00 pm on the Food & Consumer Pack Stage.
Kicking off Day 2, Alyssa Auberger, Chief Sustainability Officer at Baker McKenzie, Simon Mason, Head of Wine Sustainability at The Wine Society, and Amy Nelson-Bennett, CEO of Positive Luxury, will discuss attracting new investors, building customer loyalty, improving financial performance, making operations sustainable, and gaining a competitive edge (10:30-11:30 am – Beauty & Drinks Stage). Jude Allan, Interim Managing Director of OPRL, will then explore new legislation and the impact of mandatory labelling on recycling awareness (11:00 am – Food & Consumer Pack Stage) before Melvin Jay, founder of Gunna Drinks, will present the UK’s first aluminum-bottled soft drinks, emphasising sustainability and wellness (11:45 am – Beauty & Drinks Stage).
Lewis Collins, Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer at Aircards, will be joined by Miguel Olarte, Global Breakthrough Innovation Lead at Diageo, on the Luxury Stage (1:15 pm) to discuss the future of brand engagement with connected packaging, focusing on Diageo’s TequilaAR initiative for Don Julio. The inaugural winners of the London Packaging Week Innovation Awards will be announced at 2:00 pm on the Luxury Stage, with finalist packs on display. An esteemed panel, including Miles Beale from The Wine and Spirit Trade Association and Tamara Roberts, CEO at Ridgeview Wine Estate, will discuss the feasibility of achieving a premium feel with high recyclability (1:45 pm – 2:30 pm, Beauty & Drinks Stage).
Concluding the event, Steve Owen, Global Sustainable Packaging Manager at No.7 Beauty Company, will discuss the necessity of subject matter expertise and cross-functional collaboration for meeting sustainability goals (2:45-3:15 pm).
