Ricoh presents three new products at Gulf Print and Pack
Thursday 23. November 2023 - The newly developed RICOH GC OS (graphic communications operating system) engine controller introduces operational and maintenance management improvements. It includes a larger screen with a user interface and is compatible with external diagnostic systems.
Ricoh comes to Gulf Print and Pack 2024 with Ricoh Pro C9500, RICOH Pro C7500 and RICOH Auto Color Adjuster.
According to the company, Ricoh Pro C9500’s technology is designed to elevate productivity and quality, while simplifying operations and expanding application opportunities. It improves efficiency and automation while developing greater labour savings throughout the entire workflow. Collectively it supports cost control, business expansion, and frees up time for other tasks.
The flagship toner-based press enables commercial specialists to further accelerate their analog to digital transition or upgrade their print on demand-oriented digital capabilities.
The newly developed RICOH GC OS (graphic communications operating system) engine controller introduces operational and maintenance management improvements. It includes a larger screen with a user interface and is compatible with external diagnostic systems and maintenance programs.
The printer is accessible from a PC or tablet, and settings can be remotely managed, saving time, even in a multi-skilled environment where printing operators perform numerous tasks.
Automation and operational efficiency are powered by the new Auto Color Diagnosis Unit that automates the three critical inspections in commercial printing: quality, registration, and color fluctuation. It delivers inspection accuracy; while there is greater efficiency post inspection with automatic reprinting and purging functions, and the setting procedure is easier to operate with seven detection levels to choose from.
Succeeding the RICOH Pro C7200/x series, the RICOH Pro C7500 is compatible with Ricoh’s original special color toners that include white, clear, invisible red, gold, and silver. Its built-in new neon color profiles automatically add neon yellow and neon pink to expand the color gamut for more vivid color expression.
New on the Pro C7500 too, is an elastic intermediate transfer belt to support rough or uneven textured media. It handles a wide range of grammages from 40gsm to 470gsm (compared to the maximum recommended grammage of 360gsm for the Pro C7200/x series) and is strengthened to support duplex printed long lengths up to 1030mm. These developments enable progressive Print Service Providers (PSPs) to broaden their range of applications with, as example, light packaging, greeting cards, and wedding stationery, while benefitting from enhanced print quality.
The RICOH Pro C7500 is also equipped with the RICOH GC OS. The newly developed engine controller enables efficiencies in device use, and the intuitive and simple operation of machine settings. Remote access, via a web browser from a PC or tablet, supports streamlined operation in a multiskilled environment where print operators are required to perform numerous tasks. New functions via software updates can be continually added in response to client feedback.
It also has a powerful DFE (Digital Front End) developed in collaboration with Fiery that drives operational effectiveness. Additional printing efficiencies and labor-saving functions have also been introduced to reduce time spent on maintenance and support real time trouble shooting. These include the quick and simple changeover of complete units for special colours and improved operator replaceable units to support responsive system maintenance.
Ricoh’s Auto Color Adjuster helps commercial printers expand into color critical markets, increase production versatility, streamline production processes and improve the quality and consistency of the jobs they deliver.
It speeds up the labor-intensive process of achieving precise color reproduction from system to system, and job to job. It can help commercial printers overcome the complexities and staffing challenges associated with professional color management by enabling team members to create ICC profiles in a matter of minutes, match color from pre-printed samples, to run jobs across multiple systems.
