Development of the KP-Connect API
Friday 10. February 2023 - Komori has promoted linkage of JDF, CSV, and direct link for the overall workflow collaboration that is essential for the development of Smart Factories. In the future, we will develop and provide communication protocols to enable connection with other manufacturing processes.
Komori Corporation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Satoshi Mochida) is pleased to announce the development of the KP-Connect API to strengthen the linkage between KP-Connect, a software package that promotes Smart Factory development in the printing industry, and remote production devices. The API software will be provided to Komori users, alliance partners, and suppliers.
The API solution will be rolled out as below.
1. Komori has promoted linkage of JDF, CSV, and direct link for the overall workflow collaboration that is essential for the development of Smart Factories. In the future, we will develop and provide communication protocols to enable connection with other manufacturing processes and logistics and fields where JDF linkage is difficult. This will enable smooth connection of KP-Connect with a wider range of processes and equipment.
2. We will also develop a cloud-based API for wider utilization of KP-Connect data. This will increase the flexibility of aggregation and analysis as well as enable operation analysis from the user’s own perspective. KP-Connect collects and retains operating performance information from domestic and overseas users. By sharing KP-Connect information with alliance partners and suppliers, it will be possible to utilize the data through the API for new proposals and problem solving.
This API is scheduled to be released in October 2023, and Komori aims to improve the value proposition of KP-Connect.
