Going digital for the short runs and the long haul – Creative Printing Press
Tuesday 10. January 2023 - A hybrid label production approach keeps Jordan-based printer CPP out in front. Sustaining business growth and printing excellence for twenty years is a challenging task. And yet, Jordan-based Creatives Printing Press (CPP) has been able to succeed at both goals.
The lingering effects of the pandemic and challenging supply chain issues mean the next year will be a defining time for printers. Thats why today, its more important than ever for the industry to connect and learn from one another. Read on to discover how the right partnership helped one printer evolve from offset capabilities to become a true hybrid printer.
Sustaining business growth and printing excellence for twenty years is a challenging task. And yet, Jordan-based Creatives Printing Press (CPP) has been able to succeed at both goals.
Part of that success is due to combining their offset setup with digital printing capabilities. Since then, its been hybrid all the way – no looking back.
How it started
In 2003, Creative Printing Press (CPP) started with a clear mission: to be the regional leader in printing services by delivering high-quality, professional printing solutions and becoming a trusted partner to its customers. Now, nearly twenty years later, CPPs commitment to excellence has made them one of the leading printing companies in Jordan.
The companys team of 52 employees provides customers with an expansive array of highly advanced printing solutions and services. These services include high-quality labels, brochures, packaging, folders, invitation cards, and more.
The printing deliverables by CPP have become a symbol of quality, excellence, and timeliness in the publishing field. Not only in Jordan but also across the region.
Pursuing the digital track
CPP has a long history with offset printing. Compared to other methods, the company believes offset printing is best suited for producing large volumes of quality printing in a manner that requires little maintenance.
But, in an increasingly connected world, CPP recognized that printing must evolve.
So, in 2016, the company turned to United Technology Consultants (UTC) for guidance. At that time, CPP was still using conventional sheet offset for their label business, and UTC recommended the Xeikon 3030 as an alternative, because of its roll-to-roll end production, low printing cost, and easy operation. Moreover, the Toner Food Grade and best-in-class printing quality were what CPP needed for their high-end applications.
“CPP was one of the Xeikon 3030 pioneer users in the Middle East,” says Maher Dakkouri, Executive Manager at UTC. “We knew the press would offer the features and functionality CPP wanted to get into digital label production and make it a success. Their performance results were off the charts, making the CPP site an exemplary demo location for self-adhesive applications in the Middle East.”
In 2022, CPP also wanted a digital resource that could tackle the post-COVID challenges and deliver longer runs of high-quality labels – and do it quickly. This time, UTC advocated for the new Xeikon PX3300, a high-end label press that addresses end-use applications requiring durability and a tactile glossy look and feel for the self-adhesive label market. After a long time of calculation, CPP also found that in the market they serve, printing on the Xeikon PX3300 is very competitive to flexo costs, even with larger run jobs.
“CPP not only thinks out of the box, but they also stand away from it,” continues Maher. “The company has strong relationships with their customers and generates big volumes of production. But they also wanted to cater to the short-run, low-volume needs. Adopting the Xeikon presses – and taking a hybrid and cost-efficient approach to high-end label production at any volume and speed – keeps CPP out in front as a leading printer in the Middle East,” Maher concludes.
Making connections for the long haul
In an increasingly connected world, CPP moved far beyond looking at print as simply ink on paper. Today, success means printers must explore the intersection of Printing and Digital media and exploit connections that can make the combination dramatically more valuable and profitable than either alone. Moreover, CPP believes that printers must also leverage print’s beautiful, tactile, enduring qualities and blend them with the benefits of digital technology.
“Using print to create modern connections requires a deep and strong relationship with your customer,” says Mr. Omar Hwatmih CEO at CPP. “When customers engage with our team, they know we think deeply about their business, challenges and opportunities, and how we can help with print! Thats why were constantly exploring the best printing setup for the best label use case application. Our customers keep evolving, and so does our offering.”
“When our customers run into a tough challenge or big opportunity, they know we are also up in the night, wrestling with their challenge too. We love what we do, and nothing makes us happier than delivering a product that helps our customer achieve their goals,” concludes Mr. Hwatmih
