Fujifilm Europe inaugurates OPEN INNOVATION HUB at its new headquarters in Ratingen
Thursday 28. July 2022 - With renewed concept, Fujifilm Europe opens innovation lab to numerous stakeholders. Fujifilm Europe is officially opening the doors of its revamped OPEN INNOVATION HUB concept at its new headquarters in Ratingen, Germany.
The new innovation lab, which is dedicated to the development of ideas, new business and projects, has been designed as an immersive experience where visitors will be able to embark on a journey of discovery of the core technologies that have enabled Fujifilm to transform itself from an imaging company to a leading player in a number of high-tech sectors, including healthcare.
The same technologies are now available to different stakeholders such as future customers, universities, creators, start-ups, institutions and associations, who will have the opportunity to co-create new value to improve the quality of life in society together with Fujifilm.
“The ‘open innovation’ method allows a more focused approach to the creation of new value, because it is based on total collaboration with potential partners and on our technological heritage developed over more than 80 years of accumulated expertise in photosensitive materials,” says Hiroshi Tamaoki, Senior Technical Manager OI-Hub/S&D Group FUJIFILM Europe GmbH. “Our visitors will be able to learn more about Fujifilm’s research and development potential, and find a solid partner for the activation of initiatives, particularly in the fields of sustainability, health, and more generally in those areas where business and social issues are looking for a solution.”
The new OPEN INNOVATION HUB in Ratingen is the natural evolution of the first experience in the European R&D hub in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Its relocation will allow a greater connection with Fujifilm’s business divisions and institutions, and consequently with the specific needs of customers and more widely, the society itself.
“I am delighted to open the doors of our OPEN INNOVATION HUB, in the new headquarter we are inaugurating today,” says Toshihisa Iida, President and Managing Director FUJIFILM Europe GmbH. “This concept was born in Japan in 2006 with the aim of stimulating the creation of new value through the fusion of expertise of scientists in a wide range of fields. In Europe, we want to further accentuate this vocation for collaboration and dialogue, and for this reason we will work intensively in building relationships with the territory, local and European institutions, and the economic tissue in order to propose ourselves as a creative and industrial partner in the design of solutions for a more sustainable and inclusive future”.
