Highest efficiency in die-cutting and packing in the tobacco sector
Thursday 14. July 2022 - With its two technologies crease-plate-die+ and crease-plate-dierc, the globally operating diemaker Marbach offers two solutions for the tobacco sector in its portfolio. These are increasingly establishing themselves on the market due to their many advantages.
crease-plate-die|+
crease-plate-die|+ is used whenever packaging is to be produced in a “hinge lid” or “bevel edge” design. This technology creases with a defined end gauge. This means that the make ready can be carried out with extreme precision and uniform creasing. This increases both the quality of the packaging blanks and the speeds during packing.
crease-plate-die|rc
crease-plate-die|rc is a solution especially suited for cigarette packaging in round corner design. The unique effect of round corner packaging is created by several creases being placed very close together when the packaging is cut. This looks outstanding on the finished packaging, yet it also places high technical demands on the tool.
Bernhard Reisser, industry manager at Marbach: “With round corner creases, completely different forces act on the paperboard than with standard creases. In order to master these, it is necessary to be able to individually set-up the creases. This means separating the make- ready of the cross creases of a creasing plate tool from the round corner creases. Such a separated make-ready is possible with the crease-plate-die|rc. The results are high-quality blanks that achieve the creasing specifications given by the end customer. Incidentally, this also applies to changing cardboard materials and variations in cardboard quality.”
Marbach’s crease-plate-die solutions stand for high-quality blanks that optimally meet tobacco manufacturers’ high demands on packaging quality and packing speed.
