Dataline launches MultiPress Connect app for Enfocus Switch
Wednesday 01. September 2021 - With the development of the MultiPress Connect App, it is possible to optimise the Switch workflow with the data from MultiPress. With the app, all stored information from MultiPress is automatically linked to Switch.
Dataline and Enfocus are launching the MultiPress Connect App. The modular Switch platform from Enfocus offers a wide range of automation options for prepress and print production workflow.
A logical step in the MultiPress story
Enfocus’ modular Switch platform offers a wide range of automation options for prepress and print production workflow.
The platform:
enables users to assemble their workflows to partially or fully automate their production processes
creates connections between software applications, but is also open for connections with external partners
has its own app store with ready-made apps from external providers. With these apps you can quickly and easily add additional functionality to your switch workflows.
Davy Verstaen, Solution Architect at Dataline, says: “It’s no surprise that Switch is quickly gaining popularity and being adopted across the graphic arts industry. Our team has seen this development and believes that MultiPress users should also be able to benefit from it. That’s why we decided to connect both systems with the new MultiPress Connect app.”
Angelo Manno, Global OEM & Strategic Accounts Manager at Enfocus, added: “The Switch platform is dedicated to bringing together the ever-growing range of quality software in the graphic arts industry. We are therefore thrilled to add a major MIS player like MultiPress to our list of integrations. This is an important step towards full process automation for many customers.”
MultiPress Connect App: a multitude of possibilities
With the MultiPress Connect App, users get the best of both worlds: the powerful automation capabilities of Switch combined with the comprehensive and up-to-date information in MultiPress. Via the MultiPress Connect App, the user shares all necessary CRM/ERP data with Switch, such as new or changed contact data, cost estimate and quotation information or the current order status. The receipt of files or, for example, the release of a digital test version is also passed on immediately.
Based on these messages from MultiPress, Switch processes the current information and then initiates the necessary measures fully automatically. Switch in turn reports data back via the MultiPress Connect app so that MultiPress automatically takes action. This feedback of data from Switch to MultiPress is automatic and error-free, which saves a lot of time and money.
This is the only way to take production automation to the next level: A fully integrated solution is created without the need for the job manager or prepress operator to intervene
How does the MultiPress Connect app improve workflow?
A simple example shows how such a networked prepress workflow works in practice. As soon as a customer approves a quotation and submits his files online, a preflight profile is selected based on the job information. After the automatic preflight, the job status is updated and the customer receives a confirmation that his digital proof is available. Once approved by the client, MultiPress informs the Switch platform, whereupon the files are immediately processed towards production.
In addition, you can automate all possible optional steps in the workflow. For example, a job for which the files are available can be included directly in the planning to ensure on-time production. The required materials and paper stocks are reserved immediately and the files can be sent directly for imposition based on JDF. The big advantage: nowhere in this process is it necessary to enter or update information manually.
MultiPress Connect Webinar: 29 September
In a webinar on 29 September at 16.00 (CET), application experts from Dataline and Enfocus will explain the many automation options that can be set up in switch workflows with the new MultiPress Connect app. A.o. Davy Verstaen, MultiPress Solution Architect at Dataline, will conduct the demonstration.
