vjoon K4 Version 12: Better Team Collaboration
Thursday 03. June 2021 - Even in times of home office, whether before, during or after COVID-19, layouts and texts need to be edited. This usually involves several people, for example when it comes to coordinating different content and implementing approval processes.
vjoon, one of the world’s leading providers of industry-independent digital content management solutions, today announced the release of vjoon K4 Version 12. In light of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic and the shift of many workplaces to home offices, the focus of this release is on optimising the Approval Manager with regard to team collaboration. This was accompanied by improvements in the user experience (UX) and in the integration with seven, vjoon’s modern DAM platform.
Editorial systems such as vjoon K4 ensure clearly structured workflows, secure versioning and a fast exchange of information within the team. The goal for the new version of K4 was therefore to further simplify the coordination and approval processes, especially in distributed work environments.
Sticky notes now also in Approval Manager
Sticky notes can already be created and edited in K4 Layout and K4 Edit, the plug-ins for InDesign and InCopy, and in K4 Overview, the client for production monitoring. They are also visible in other K4 clients. What is new is that sticky notes can now also be created and edited in Approval Manager.
This special client enables teams to quickly and easily check content and obtain management approval. A simple mouse click is all it takes to give a go or no-go. With the addition of sticky notes, the Approval Manager now offers its users completely new possibilities for collaboration. Like in a chat, team members and managers comment on layouts and their contents, can point out change requests or give explanations about the contents and design elements. Editors, graphic designers, art directors and managers do not have to set foot outside the home office for this. In this way, magazines, annual reports and marketing materials can be produced safely and quickly.
Optimised Editor UX in Approval Manager
Another highlight is the new editor in the Approval Manager. Users can expect a modern, spacious editor that makes it even easier to enter texts in the browser. If necessary, the editor slides sideways into the screen and overlays the layout preview for text editing, without completely covering it. This way, the view is focused on the essentials and easy editing is guaranteed.
Enhanced integration with vjoon seven
From day one, the integration of K4 with seven has been the ideal connection between a DAM and a publishing system. With version 12, this connection has also been further optimised. Users can now also include objects from seven placed in the layout in the Approval Manager approval process.
“With the enhancements in the Approval Manager, we are continuing our continuous optimisation process in the development of K4,” says Christian H. Hollstein, Senior Product Manager and Product Owner K4. “We still have many ideas and will implement them with the coming versions. Together with our customers and partners, we will therefore continue to write this success story for a long time to come.”
The new version 12 of vjoon K4 will be available at the beginning of June and can be accessed via the respective integration partners.
