Epson labelling solutions at the BioFach 2020
Monday 10. February 2020 - At its first appearance at BioFach (February 12 - 15, 2020, Nuremberg Trade Fair Centre, Stand 7A-711), Epson will present its solutions for colour label printing. One focus of the manufacturers presentation will be on the machines of the ColorWorks C3500, C6000 and C7500 series, whose labels are all compliant with the EU regulation on materials and objects that come into contact with food1. These machines provide companies with flexible inkjet printing solutions for high-quality in-house production of color labels, tickets and price tags of all kinds.
In addition to the printers, turnkey systems for the automatic application of high-quality labels will also be on display at the Epson stand at BioFach 2020. Thanks to highly developed Epson inkjet technology, companies print a wide range of different media with Epson ColorWorks printers, from inexpensive premium matt paper and high gloss to BOPP high and satin gloss. Due to the high printing performance of the ColorWorks as well as the exact number of pieces produced, there is no need for stockpiling and overproduction, thus reducing costs.
In addition to the label printers as such, Epson also manufactures the ink and driver software itself. This ensures optimum compatibility of the individual components, so that customers always have a reliable, cost-effective printing solution with Epson ColorWorks. All of the company’s production facilities meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. They also comply with the relevant regulations of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In addition, the inks used in Epson’s SurePress and ColorWorks printers are manufactured according to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principle, in which every phase of the production process is closely monitored.
With Epson ColorWorks label printers, companies produce individual shelf and product labels flexibly and cost-effectively, right down to the first print run. The time-consuming disposal of surplus labels and costly storage of pre-printed forms are a thing of the past thanks to these modern printing solutions. In addition, Epson ColorWorks printing solutions reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions thanks to their energy-saving PrecisionCore print head technology. The sustainability of ColorWorks printing systems is further enhanced by the low level of waste generated during operation.
Another Epson stand presentation will include an iPad application for individual food labelling. A suitably configured system, consisting of a hand scanner and a connection to a calibratable Soehnle weighing system, transfers the weight data to an iPad, which then fits them into a predefined label layout and outputs them as an individualised label on a ColorWorks printer.
