Direct Mail Days 2019 again with a record number of visitors – to be continued in 2021

Thursday 13. June 2019 - Direct Mail Days 2019 at W+D in Neuwied on June 5 and 6 were not only fully booked out, but also fully met the participants expectations the third year they were held. Founded as an exchange platform and source of ideas for direct mailing, envelope production, inserting and printing technology, in the meanwhile, the series of events has become firmly established. The decision has already been made to hold the event again in 2021 - following a break in the drupa year 2020.

Around 150 participants from all over the world gained more information about the latest technological developments, including optimized printing processes for LED UV, flexo and inkjet printing in six expert presentations. The enthusiastic presentation by Scott Evans, President of Kenmore Envelopes in the US, was received particularly positively by the trade visitors. By developing his staff and optimizing his machinery consisting of W+D systems, he led his company to success. He also presented the versatile new possibilities for envelopes such as special formats, prints, varnishes, embossing and other finishings that attract the end customer’s attention. The customer’s point of view was discussed by the Managing Director of an advertising agency, who presented successful projects with an exemplary character in direct mailing based on his 20 years of experience.
The practical part didn’t come up short either: as a premiere, the participants were able to take a close look at the new W+D 628 envelope machine equipped with state-of-the-art control technology and complemented by the extended W+D 201 inline printing system with LED UV drying that also demonstrated flexo printing at its best. Other highlights included the latest extensions to the W+D BB700 S2 envelope inserting system and demonstrations of the W+D Halm i-Jet 2 digital inkjet press for envelopes.
The exhibiting companies AMS Spectral UV, Doneck, Eukalin, Henkel, Irplast, Norflex, UPM, Valco Melton and Stora Enso as well as FEPE contributed substantially to the relaxed exchange between participants.
