Colter & Peterson’s new Microcut PLUS Cutter Control System the main attraction at GOA

Thursday 09. February 2017 - When Microcut/Colter & Peterson exhibits at the February 16-18 Graphics of the Americas Show in Florida, it will display the impressive new Microcut PLUS Cutter Control System. The next generation paper cutter control package is the latest prize development for the highly popular and successful Microcut brand, which has over 30,000 worldwide installations. Microcut/C&P (booth 533) will also feature several different sizes of the automated and affordable back gauge system.

This year’s Graphics of the America’s show has moved north from Miami to the Broward Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. Coincidentally, Colter & Peterson recently completed a move to new corporate headquarters in West Caldwell, New Jersey. Richard Peereboom, C&P’s Sales Manager for Latin America, expects the hustle and bustle to continue at GOA.

“The Microcut Cutter Control System is a unique, turnkey clamp/control system with the newest electronics that brings any flywheel cyclical paper cutter up to current standards. This the first time most people who attend GOA will see the new 15″ Microcut PLUS Cutter Control System. It was a big hit with the crowd last year at drupa,” said Peereboom, who regularly chats with visitors from Mexico, Central and South America at GOA.

“Like any Microcut package, the new Cutter Control System is designed to make any print operations’ paper cutters more productive. They can take on work others can’t handle in the same amount of time. The difference is this model features new software with enhanced graphics for converted JDF files, and other benefits that make it more user-friendly.

“The new software update,” continued Peereboom, “will be an operator’s best friend. We’ve added new graphics so it visually shows the operator what he is cutting. “This is especially helpful in shops that may have inexperienced operators. The program is color coordinated so they’ll know sooner what can be put aside and what is waste. The time-savings for any shop can be significant.”

Peereboom says Microcut PLUS is a great selection for larger format printers with its wide format touch screen and money-saving microcip and microfacts features. Programs are uploaded from the network connection with a USB device using CIP3 and CIP4 files, and no additional hardware or software is needed.

Microcut COLOR WS has appealed to medium sized printers at past GOA events, primarily due to the 8″ wide format touch screen for short and simple set-up. In turn, Microcut JR is a solid choice for smaller shops. It works well with paper cutters less than 37″ in size, and label and sheet divide requires only a few data entries to produce work. And Microtrack II is for shops with manual operated paper cutters, offering a digital display and programming guide to increase accuracy and productivity.
