Quality wine goes down well with Sacmi OPERA labellers
Thursday 28. July 2016 - Key order placed by major Italian wine-making player. Yet another success for this modular solution that, thanks to unique flexibility, reliability and compactness, has won the trust of customers worldwide.
An unbeatable ally for adding even more value to wine products, a source of valuable consumer information and a guarantee of authenticity and brand recognisability: these are the labels applied on high quality wines, a sector where Sacmi is steadily winning over customers thanks to innovative technological solutions and the increasing confidence being shown in them by some of the industry’s biggest players.
The latter include one of Italy’s most important wine-making companies, an internationally renowned symbol of Made in Italy wine quality that has placed an order for a modular labeller from the ground-breaking OPERA machine series.
Part of a Sacmi machine range that has profoundly innovated the labelling process – with modular solutions that stand out on account of both their extreme compactness and their capacity to efficiently manage different label formats and application systems – the supplied labeller, an OPERA 500 27T MODUL, is configured with 5 different labelling modules, 2 which use self-adhesive technology and 3 designed for cold glue applications.
It is the labelling modules that incorporate the most important developments: redesigned to provide even greater compactness, they feature latest-generation brushless motors that control labelling platform rotation and ensure absolute reliability and efficiency. More specifically, the 3 modules for cold-glue label application are designed to control the application of both front and rear labels and the special quality seal. The remaining modules use self-adhesive technology and allow labels to be applied on both the front and rear of the bottle.
Capable of working at ultra-high speeds, the five installed modules allow output rates of 14,000 applications an hour whatever the format. Customers also get considerable added value from the LVS 002 B (Labelling Vision System) integrated on the machine; developed by Sacmi’s Automation & Service Division, this solution can, thanks to a system with 6 high definition cameras, run real-time, high-speed, error-free checks on label application and orientation. It can also identify any raised logos, glassworks codes and glass seams.
Being able to work in parallel, even with a single machine, across multiple labelling technologies and systems, stylish design and compactness of both machine and modules (with easy installation anywhere on both small lines and large-scale manufacturing facilities) went a long way in winning over the customer’s confidence; they also greatly appreciated the ability of Sacmi personnel to work alongside the company’s technical staff and so get an early grasp of their requirements to ensure excellent products and results.
