New Prism paper cutter and Cutter Control System top Colter & Peterson entries for Graph Expo
Monday 25. July 2016 - Colter & Peterson (booth 2639) is planning to exhibit both new and proven paper cutters from its highly popular Prism line this year at Graph Expo. They will be joined by three versions of the industry-leading Microcut retrofit systems for paper cutters and the new Microcut Cutter Control System at this years event, which is being held September 25-28 at a new venue - the Orange County Convention Center-North in Orlando.
Joining the 31.5″ Prism P80 on stage will be the brand new Prism 28″ 73E. The durable Prism P80 has been a hit in the marketplace for many reasons, including its unique, state-of-the-art design features, Microcut color touch screen computer and reliable performance. The new 73E comes equipped with a Mitsubishi computer control package and electro mechanical clamp/knife drives. Priced at under $20,000, it is designed for companies that need an affordable machine for lighter duty applications.
The computerized Microcut back gauge program makes every printer more productive. With nearly 35,000 worldwide installations on new, used and rebuilt paper cutters of any brand between 20-150 inches in size, Microcut units can improve productivity by as much as 50%. Not only do they make operations faster, safer and cut paper more accurately, they cost a fraction of the purchase price of a new paper cutter.
At Graph Expo, C&P will feature the Microcut COLOR, Microcut JR and Microcut PLUS WS retrofit kits. These programs have different benefits but each memorizes the cutting sequences so the back gauge can automatically move into position to deliver a precise trim within 1/64″.
Microcut PLUS WS units offer larger operations time-saving features such as microcip and microfacts. It also assists programs by uploading job information from a network connection or with a USB device using CIP 3/4 files with no additional hardware or software required. Microcut COLOR units offer the same programming advantages as Microcut PLUS but without the networking or CIP functions, while Microcut JR units are better suited for shops with cutters up to 37″ in size. Both COLOR and JR units still offer advanced programming options such as label and sheet divide to help simplify complicated jobs with only a few data entries.
The new Microcut Cutter Control System will be introduced to the North American market after winning high acclaim during its international debut at drupa. This system features a reduced number of components for easier ordering and installation, and brings paper cutting machines in line with modern electrical and safety standards. It is available for customers using paper cutting machines from 30-112 inches in size.
