Toray consolidates activities in Central Europe
Friday 26. February 2016 - Toray Industries Inc., a leading manufacturer of waterless offset plate technology, announced that it is consolidating all development and support activities for the European newspaper, label, packaging & printing industries in its state-of-the art Prost?jov facility in the Czech Republic.
“We chose our existing TTCE-site at Prost?jov for expansion as we were building increased production capacity because it is located in the heart of Europe, making it efficient to serve customers across the Continent, as well as in the UK and the Americas,” said Mitsunori Hayashi, general manager for sales in the graphic materials department at Toray Textiles Central Europe (TTCE). “We are a relatively flat organization with direct communications to the field and short decision timeframes. By centralizing customer service, sales, marketing, production and R& D in one location, we can more effectively serve customers throughout the Toray sales regions, as well as improve internal communication as we look to continue to bring to market innovative products and solutions.”
In late 2014, Toray opened a new 6,000 square meter building at its TTCE campus to accommodate its expanded plate manufacturing operations. The 140-meter-long production line produces waterless printing plates – from the aluminium coils, through washing, coating and laminating, to cutting the finished products. It is a state-of-the-art facility that exactly matches the high quality standards of the manufacturing plant in Japan for global consistency in plate quality.
“We are also excited about presenting several new plates addressing different industries at drupa 2016 in Düsseldorf, Germany, where we will be exhibiting together with dealers and waterless printing associations in Hall 16, stand D32, and look forward to sharing these innovations with our visits,” Mr. Hayashi concluded. “Our new facility and our centralization efforts will help us speed development and commercialization of these and other new products in the future.”
