HP Enables Print Service Providers to Explore New Business Opportunities With High-value Commercial, Labels and Packaging Solutions at Pamex 2015

Monday 14. December 2015 - Today, at Pamex 2015, one of India's largest dedicated events for the printing and allied machinery industries, HP showcased its flagship HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press along with other printers and presses from its Indigo, Latex and DesignJet portfolio.

The company has also planned a slew of activities to engage and educate the Print Service Providers (PSPs) involved in general commercial printing and labels & packaging helping them explore the immense possibilities with HP’s digital print technology and provide increased value to their end customers through unique application and improved automation. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the many high-quality applications achievable with HP’s innovative Indigo printing technology, as well as the numerous production benefits of digital printing at the HP booth, the largest booth at Pamex 2015 covering 500 sq. m. area (Hall 1; E04,E10).

For the first time in a trade show in India, HP is showcasing its flagship HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press; a B2/750 mm (long side edge) press. The press has over 200 units installed in 35 countries including India and maintains all the capabilities distinct to the HP Indigo portfolio in a B2 format, to expand digital printing capabilities into previously traditional offset markets, providing high value applications with the widest variety of substrates and unmatched print quality, including spot colors, photo inks and white. Latest enhancements for the HP Indigo 10000 include additional ElectroInk inks, including white, light cyan, light magenta and spot colors; and HP Indigo Enhanced Productivity Mode (EPM), which eliminates black via three-color printing and enables an increase in color printing output by 33 percent. About 25 percent of pages printed on HP Indigo 10000 presses are now said to be done so using EPM.

Also on display, the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press helps PSPs manage color easily, with automated color management aided by an in-line spectrophotometer, eliminating the need for manual color manipulations. Media fingerprinting, 3D color calibration, spot color refinement and other advanced color management tools ensure accurate color matching on a variety of substrates, color consistency across presses and sites. The Press also features the new Optimizer, an on-press production management tool that helps manage the print queue, prioritize print jobs, plan substrate usage and improve efficiencies. The press demonstrates HP’s commitment to provide printing customers’ with state-of-the-art digital printing technology to meet their needs, while also offering an upgrade path that helps protect their capital investments.

The HP Indigo 10000 and the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Presses are compatible with HP SmartStream Designer which lets customers create sophisticated, custom jobs through a simple, affordable variable data tool optimized for HP Indigo presses and based on industry-standard tools. HP SmartStream Designer also features HP SmartStream Mosaic enabling automatic creation of millions of designs based on core patterns.

Along with the two Indigo presses, HP will also showcase the HP Latex 360 Printer, HP Designjet T3500 Production eMFP and HP DesignJet D5800 production Printer. HP Latex 360 Printer powered by third-generation, water-based HP Latex ink technology prints up to 978 ft2/hr (91 m2/hr) and increases application versatility, from a wide range of flexible coated and uncoated materials including textiles and double-sided banners.

Providing easy integration into existing low-cost printing environments, the HP Designjet D5800 Production Printer allows copy shops and printing companies to produce high-quality prints such as backlit graphics, point-of-sale displays, roll-up banners and indoor signage. The HP Designjet T3500 Production eMultifunction Printer (eMFP), the most productive large-format color multifunction printer in its category is ideal for use by enterprises and requires no warm-up time and features an ultra-fast processor and a high-productivity scanner with batch-scanning, multipage PDF creation and scan-to-email capabilities.

HP will exhibit its innovative Indigo digital printing technology and applications at Pamex 2015 in Mumbai; helping customers not just meet the end customers’ need but also target new markets and explore fresh revenue streams. Key highlights of the booth include:

Education seminars for brand owners and agencies- Brand managers and agencies are exploring new and creative mediums to reach their end consumers. In turn, PSPs are trying to address these needs by exploring innovative printing applications which are effective in customer reach, affordable and environment friendly at the same time. HP will be running education seminars every day at its booth for the brand owners and agencies, with a focus on cosmetic and pharmaceutical vertical needs to share how HP’s Indigo printing technology offers a differentiated product experience with high-value, creative and innovative commercial and packaging applications helping them reach out to their customers in more effective ways.

As the printing market evolves, visitors will also see how they can use digital printing technology to enter growing markets and address the growing need for short run and variable data printing.

Real-world Application stations – HP with its Indigo printing technology is well positioned to address the emerging needs and challenges of the specialized segment customers. To demonstrate this capability; HP will showcase themed application stations for its customers and visitors ranging from commercial, pharmaceuticals, labels and packaging to branding, allowing specific vertical customers to experience first-hand, the various possibilities with HP’s Indigo digital printing technology. The application stations will include rich displays and applications printed on HP’s Indigo, Latex and DesignJet printers like marketing collaterals, publishing, and direct mailers, calendars, wrapping paper, posters, cut prints, cards, high-quality publications including coffee table books, mosaic applications label and flexible packaging samples, folding cartons, shrink sleeves, portraits and art reproductions, signages, drawings, maps, films and papers samples, textiles, canvas and wall paper etc. There is also a special dedicated B2 gallery showcasing the real world commercial and packaging B2 applications.

On December 8, 2015, HP is also organizing the first India Dscoop workshop themed around ‘Make the most of your press’, to share the industry best practices with the Dscoop members helping them stay abreast with the latest technology and applications and improve business operations.
