No more troubles with shadows, transparencies and text
Thursday 08. October 2015 - Unfortunately, issues with shadows and transparencies in PDF files are still widespread in large-format printing. That is why tons of material end up in the tip.
The cause lies in the RIP technology that is being used. A lot of RIP developers use a traditional PostScript RIP. These RIPS date back to the nineties and have to translate the newest layouting techniques into output. Compare it to trying to open a Word 2010 file with WordPerfect 6.0. There is bound to be trouble.

If you want to prevent these problems and avoid unnecessary conversions, you have to opt for a workflow with an integrated Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE). APPE knows the latest design techniques and rips PDF files exactly as you see it on your screen.
Agfa Graphics’ Asanti workflow software has the APPE default on board. In addition, Asanti also has an in-built pre-flight function to check these files for a.o. missing fonts, hair lines, image resolution and spot colors. With Asanti, you can rely on a smooth and troublefree production process.
