Agfa Graphics brings its extensive automation expertise to mobile publishing with Eversify
Thursday 01. October 2015 - At World Publishing Expo 2015, Agfa Graphics introduces new and completed feature sets for Eversify, which add functionality for both the publisher and for the readers of mobile publications. Thanks to the latest technology and new features, Eversify finds its way in automating mobile applications for newspapers, magazines and schoolbooks.
Because mobile publications, compared to the conventional, printed editions, differ in the use rather than in the content, for publishers it is key to define not only the way the publication should look but also how the business model should work, especially related to mobile content and advertising.
“Obviously readers set expectations as to how they want to read a mobile publication as well as which devices”, said Jeff Cord, Marketing Manager Eversify, Agfa Graphics. “On the other hand do the publishers expect a seamless integration of the mobile solution in their complete offering. Eversify combines full automation with an easy to use publishing workflow. Editors have full content management control, including status tracking. And now that we integrated on-line ad servers, they can further develop their digital business.”
Eversify integrates with advertising servers allowing for real-time ad insertion including fully interactive HTML ads. Along with support for HTML ads, interactive (HTML) content is supported making the publication even more compelling and dynamic.
“Publications become more interesting and valuable when added content is included. Publishers are no longer limited by a printing press”, Jeff Cord added. “With Eversify the publisher can refer readers to other articles within the same edition or to external URLs. The reading experience allows the reader to easily return to the article they started with.”
With Eversify publishers can now publish the same content, with the same layout and behavior, not only to multiple devices but also to browsers.
At the WPE2015 show floor, Agfa Graphics will specifically focus on browser functionality with Enhanced Digital Copies (EDC), offering a far higher reading value when customized via edition specific information that is stored on the server. These extra files contain a variety of information, which is automatically embedded in the EDC++ edition and made available to the mobile reader.
