Wednesday 16. September 2015 - Highcon collaboration with XMPie and Esko

Highcon announced today that the company will be demonstrating its new HighconTM Axis web-to-pack platform at Booth #1939, at the Graph Expo 2015 trade show in Chicago, September 13-16th, 2015.

Highcon Axis is a 2D to 3D platform that enables packaging manufacturers to add online ordering capability to the services they offer.

Highcon has collaborated with industry leaders XMPie and Esko to provide this best-of-breed solution to its customers.

Ido Tsalka, Managing Director, web-to-pack at Highcon said: “In order to bring this robust solution to market we have cooperated with the industry experts in personalization and packaging solutions. Together we will extend the existing digital workflow from initial design all the way through to digital package production on the HighconTM Euclid.”

Idan Youval, Director, and Business Development at XMPie, a Xerox company, said: “Highcon Axis is built on top of the XMPie platform and, as a result, makes the expansion path to packaging and high-value finishing an easy and natural one. In addition, since our customers are proficient in digital workflows and personalization / customization solutions, they are an ideal community for adopting the breakthrough digital capabilities that Highcon brings to their technology.”

Geert De Proost, Director Software Engines at Esko: “We have collaborated with Highcon since the Euclid was launched and are happy to extend this cooperation by integrating Esko automation tools in this end-to-end digital workflow for on-demand applications. The integration with Highcon Axis is a perfect illustration of how partnering suppliers can create added value creation and enable packaging and print professionals to reduce time-to-market and raise productivity.”

Highcon will be installing the Axis solution at beta sites towards the end of 2015. Two existing Highcon customers have already agreed to be beta sites, Glossop Cartons in the UK and Boutwell Owens & Co., Inc. in the USA.

Jacky Sidebottom-Every , Sales Director at Glossop Cartons said: “At Glossop Cartons we have been so successful with the Euclid Digital cutting and creasing machine that now, with our digital press completing the whole process of manufacturing cartons digitally, our short run and personalization service is complete and ready for production. The next logical step is an on-line web-to-pack solution and our natural partner for this new venture is Highcon. We are currently in the process of building the on-line shop that will enable Glossop Cartons to automatically process short run orders, using Highcon Axis without the need for administration.”

Ward McLaughlin, President at Boutwell Owens & Co., Inc. said: “The entire Boutwell management team is excited about the opportunity to become the first Highcon Axis beta customer in North America and add yet another dimension to our end-to-end digital process. We will be installing the solution in the coming months as part of the Axis beta program.”
