Orchard harvests coveted business award accolade

Thursday 16. October 2014 - Orchard Press (Cheltenham) is hoping for an upsurge in local contracts after being awarded the Family Business of the Year 2014 accolade by the Gloucester Echo and Gloucester Citizen Business. It takes work from around the UK and mainly the Home Counties but would love to bring in more from its own doorstep as well.

The company has moved from B2 to B1 format production in the last couple of years and has invested an impressive £3m in the plant, not least its Speedmaster XL 106-10-P long perfector with Inpress Control and two folders, a KH 82 combination and TH 82 buckle machine.
“We have invested £3m and continue to look for growth and opportunities in a tough market place,” says Bob Williams, who co- founded the company with his son, managing director Adrian Williams. “Providing our clients with advice, support, outstanding quality and cost effective print solutions we are able to build strong, lasting relationships.”
The company was founded in 1996 and it was the sale of the family’s orchard to fund the start up that gave the business its name. The company moved from Cheltenham to a purpose-built factory in Tewkesbury in 2005 and today it employs 16 staff and has both ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environmental certification.
Jim Todd, sales director of Heidelberg UK, says: “I do heartily congratulate Orchard Press, a company which has the investment courage to match the largest print businesses but the personal touch of a family enterprise. This recognition is well deserved.”
