A Linoprint C 751 is heading for Hinckley
Wednesday 27. November 2013 - John Baxter & Sons is replacing a Minolta Biz Hub with a Heidelberg Linoprint C 751 to enable it to offer its customers a high quality digital service alongside its litho production. The machine arrives at the end of this month.
“The quality attainable from this machine means we can make a decision based on run length, price and flexibility. The quality is a given. Each job will be assessed and allocated to the technology it is best suited to. This investment also opens up new variable data opportunities,” says managing director Adrian Stacey-Connor.
The company assessed two manufacturers and one of the convincing factors was the wide selection of standard litho stocks, even up to board, that could be handled on the Linoprint C751. The company visited another user and this has whetted the appetite of the prepress team which will run the digital press. They liked what they saw in terms of reliability and quality.
Although John Baxter’s two Speedmaster SM 74-5+L presses operate on double day shifts the Linoprint C 751 will initially run days. If work justifies it having the potential to extend the shift gives it flexibility for the future.
“Business is very good this year. I think the economy really has turned the corner,” says Mr Stacey-Connor. “Now we can offer a full technology package to our customers.”
The Hinckley company, which has been in operations since 1856, prides itself on its “vision, reliability, solutions and heritage”. It offers a concept to delivery print service.
