At FOSE 2013, Kodak Helps Government Technology Professionals Take Records and Information Management to the Cloud
Wednesday 15. May 2013 - Kodak's Document Imaging business is showing a new generation of information management systems that enables government organizations to make better use of the cloud at the FOSE 2013 Conference and Expo, May 14-16 (booth #1210). At Kodak's booth, government organizations will learn best practices for leveraging the cloud for cost savings, compliance, and efficiency.
“Small and mid-sized government agencies or departments face tough challenges and each new demand brings more technology demands. With limited resources and tight compliance standards, organizations struggle to take on additional IT challenges,” said Tony Barbeau, Kodak’s General Manager for Document Imaging. “The latest applications from Kodak help the public sector overcome these barriers by making it easier to move their systems into the cloud.”
Bill Holley, Kodak’s Enterprise Solutions Manager, and Chris Beasley, COO of Edge Digital Group, will lead a panel discussion at FOSE on the topic of records and information management. Beasley will also present “Above the RIM: SharePoint in the Cloud,” which outlines requirements, challenges and opportunities related to cloud technologies. He will also detail how one government agency found success in the cloud.
“Kodak’s software delivers great value to federal and local governments that need to adapt to smaller spaces, new regulations and constituent demands,” said Holley. “The combined expertise and technology from Kodak and its partners help answer the questions government technology leaders face as they consider cloud-based solutions. This guidance helps to simplify complex data and document processes and reduce costs.”
Kodak and Edge Digital Group will be on hand to demonstrate KODAK Info Activate Solution. Edge Digital provides government and enterprise customers with digital solutions that allow them to use electronic portals to improve document processes and business workflows related to information capture and management. Attendees can experience firsthand how Info Activate Solution provides powerful capabilities to help IT administrators work directly within SharePoint to manage business process workflows and improve how knowledge workers input and organize documents from multiple sources.
“Info Activate Solution complements our cloud-based approach, which is a tremendous opportunity for small and mid-sized agencies to improve their capture processes without setting up another expensive server farm. Training users how to use this product is a breeze,” said Beasley. “Kodak and our technology partners provide records management guidance and on-going support that enables agencies to accelerate document-intensive workflows and operate records management securely from the cloud.”
Kodak will feature demonstrations of its award-winning document capture and management products at the expo (booth #1210). In addition to Info Activate Solution, the company will also feature the KODAK Info Insight Platform, KODAK i5800 Scanner with KODAK Capture Pro Software and the KODAK i2900 Scanner supported by Smart Touch. The Info Insight Platform offers a suite of applications that enable a variety of businesses to benefit from automated information management processes. The i5800 Scanner’s ergonomic design offers a height adjustable transport while the user functionality and digitally-driven features help busy offices and departments achieve productivity gains and generate cost savings from high-volume document workflows. The compact i2900 combines a robust rotary desktop scanner with a book edge flatbed scanner to provide greater versatility for offices that need to extract paper-based information and manage documents more efficiently.
