Pinstripe links up with Prinect workflow to enhance productivity and quality
Tuesday 11. December 2012 - Pinstripe Print Group has turned to Heidelberg to improve its workflow, installing Prepress Manger and Pressroom Manager ahead of undertaking an ISO 12647-2 colour certification programme.
The Birmingham company, which dubs itself “an end to end print solutions provider”, had been looking to buy Heidelberg’s Speedmaster SX technology but when a second-hand Speedmaster XL 75-5+L, five-colour B2 press with coater, fitted with Inpress Control spectral measurement came onto the market this was too good a deal to miss.
During the purchasing process, Pinstripe had seen demonstrations of Prinect workflows and realised the potential for maximising press performance and enhancing colour quality. So it is now linking an Agfa CtP device and the Speedmaster XL 75 with Prepress Manager and Pressroom Manager. These modules – together with the Inpress Control puts them in an ideal position to achieve ISO 12647-2 certification.
The company handles a range of work and its clients include public bodies operating National Framework Agreements. These organisations and an increasing number of commercial operations are demanding environmental, quality and colour credentials. The company already has ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 certification but will add ISO 12647-2 within the next three months.
Paul Stone, pre-press manager, says: “The new press has already given us a quality boost but it is still receiving information in the same way as before. With our new workflow we will make a leap forward, up our knowledge levels, improve data transfer and achieve much greater efficiencies – critical to delivering real added value to our customers, which we strive continually to do. Heidelberg has impressed us. They are helpful, best in class and are always at the forefront of print technology.”
The workflow modules will be in place by the end of this month.
