Long KBA Rapida 106 for longstanding KBA user

Tuesday 15. May 2012 - Deschamps opts for Drupa configuration

The 12-unit Rapida 106 at Drupa has already been sold to a company in Switzerland. But KBA will soon be building another press with the same long configuration.
Deschamps Arts Graphiques in Neuville en Ferrain, northern France, has inked a contract at the show for a Rapida 106 with four printing units, a coater, two dryers, a perfector, four more printing units, a coater and extended delivery. Including this new press, which is slated for delivery in September, KBA has sold Deschamps a total of 51 printing and coating units.
In 1992 Deschamps purchased one of the first Rapida 104 presses to roll off the Radebeul production line. Today this family-run business operates a ten-colour Rapida 105 for five-plus-five perfecting and a five-colour coater press. Deschamps primarily prints brochures and business reports to the highest quality standards. These are also the products the new Rapida 106 will be printing. In addition to its eight-colour perfecting and perfect coating capability the press will boast a raft of automation modules displayed at the fair: a CX package, e.g. for printing covers on high-quality substrates; automatic plate changers; a two-bar CleanTronic Synchro washing system; QualiTronic Professional inline colour control with image inspection; and QualiTronic ICR inline register control. All the presses will be linked to the in-house MIS via a ProductivityPlus interface.
The full-service, ISO 12647-2-certified print enterprise is headed by the third generation of the founding family.
