Forlabels installs first HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press in Greece to extend printing capabilities and increase productivity

Tuesday 12. April 2011 - HP today announced that Forlabels of Schimatari, Greece, has installed the first HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press in Greece to better respond to customer demands and extend its printing capabilities.

Forlabels, specialists in the production of adhesive labels and packaging for the food, beverage, agriculture and healthcare industries, installed an HP Indigo press ws4500 just two years ago and due to the company’s rapid success and subsequent growth since then, Forlabels made the decision to more than triple its production capacity by installing an HP Indigo WS6000.
One of the key benefits the new WS6000 press will bring to Forlabels’ business is the increased capacity to accommodate short-run jobs and its customers’ growing need for fast turnaround times.
“Having the Indigo WS6000 is like discovering an eighth day in the week! We previously relied on our conscientious work ethics to meet our customers’ deadline requirements, but the Indigo WS6000 is such a productive solution, it will enable us to offer even faster delivery times and still provide high-quality print,” said Avgerinos Chatzichrysos, managing director, Forlabels.
The HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press has a production speed of up to 30m/min full colour, which
mbined with Forlabels’ existing print capabilities will enable the company to significantly increase the amount of jobs it can undertake and, at the same time, allow it to respond quickly to short deadlines.
“The new press also allows us to be more flexible, which will enable us to respond better to the needs of our customers and in turn, make them more flexible to react quicker to market opportunities,” explained Avgerinos Chatzichrysos. “The extra capabilities of the Indigo WS6000 mean that we can offer new products and applications too, creating yet another opportunity for us to enhance our service to existing customers, and undoubtedly attract new business in the future.”
Supporting a broad range of substrates from 12 to 450 microns in thickness, the press prints high quality labels, flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, and folding cartons, enabling print service providers to expand product portfolios and ultimately, profitability.
According to Forlabels, the HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press’ high print quality coupled with low production costs, as well as its compliance with the company’s environmental policies, were significant factors taken into consideration when choosing the press.
“The market constantly seeks new, special and smart solutions and we believe the WS6000 addresses all of these requirements, putting it at the peak of digital printing technology. During the short time the WS6000 has been in operation, we have already discovered many additional capabilities and experienced fantastic customer service and support from HP and its reseller in Greece, 3 Print. As such, we feel we are well equipped to meet future challenges and new demands in the marketplace, putting us in an excellent position to expand and grow our business ahead of the competition,” concluded Avgerinos Chatzichrysos.
Forlabels is a privately-owned company with 40 employees and was established by Avgerinos Chatzichrysos in Athens in 1986. Vasilis Chatzichrysos became Avgerinos Chatzichrysos’ business partner and the company’s rapid success led them to Schimatari, where this succesful operation remains today.
