PODi Expands Presence in the UK Digital Printing Community
Monday 11. April 2011 - Leading international organisation for digital printing is increasing support for local print and marketing service providers with more targeted educational events through PODi UK
PODi, the Digital Printing Initiative, is proud to announce that PODi UK will be providing cutting-edge resources and more regionally targeted support to digital printers and marketing service providers throughout the United Kingdom. PODi UK has a full schedule of locally-based webinars and in-person seminars planned for 2011, along with a PODi UK AppForum conference. The emphasis will be on exploring challenges and opportunities unique to the UK marketplace and business environments.
PODi UK will be led by cross-media strategist and digital printing expert, Tony Hodgson, who has been heading up PODi UK and dotgain.org for the BPIF. Now established as an independent consultant, Hodgson will continue in a dedicated role with PODi UK. “Were excited to have Tony focusing on PODi UK,” said David Erlandson, PODis General Manager. “His boots-on-the-ground approach will give our friends in the United Kingdom an edge in understanding local markets and crafting solutions specifically for their customers.”
“The PODi community in the UK is growing as companies begin to take advantage of the exciting changes and growth potential presented by relevant marketing and integrated cross-media,” explains Hodgson. “It really is the perfect time to put substantial resources behind local educational and networking events, and thats what PODi UK is doing. We are planning six locally-produced webinars and three regionally-based seminar events. Our first seminar, “How Well Does Your Website Work for You?” in London on May 5, is bringing in US web-to-print expert Jennifer Matt, of WhatTheyThinks thewebandprint blog, to discuss valuable techniques and SEO basics we can use here to optimize website performance in our new customer-driven environment.”
“Were also laying the groundwork for a PODi UK AppForum. PODis AppForum in the US is the international digital printing communitys event of the year. Were very excited about producing our own event for the UK.”
