QuarkXPress 9 Test Drive Now Available to Download

Wednesday 06. April 2011 - Quark announced today the availability of the 30-day Test Drive of QuarkXPress 9, the next major version of the page-layout and graphic design software that puts designers in control of publishing to print, Web, interactive Flash (SWF), and now digital media. With the evaluation software users can experience the new features of QuarkXPress 9 including tools for advanced design automation as well as the ability to create content that can be delivered directly to digital devices.

Digital Publishing
With QuarkXPress 9, designers and creative professionals have a variety of options for publishing to digital devices, including all devices pre-installed with the Blio eReader, including millions of Windows computers from Toshiba, HP, and Dell, and soon, devices that run the iOS, Android, and Silverlight platforms. Designers can also easily convert QuarkXPress print files into reflowable e-books using the ePUB format to publish to Apple’s iBooks, the Barnes & Noble NOOK, Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle and more.
Coming soon: Within 90 days of the availability of QuarkXPress 9, App Studio for QuarkXPress 9 will also be available as a free update to all QuarkXPress 9 users. With App Studio for QuarkXPress, designers will have a dedicated design environment within QuarkXPress 9 for creating content for the iPad.
Design-Driven Automation
QuarkXPress 9 includes new features that help automate the design process by eliminating many manual and time-consuming design tasks. The features include the ability to set powerful automated styling rules; bullets and numbering features compatible with Microsoft Word; and advanced callout and linking functionality. With QuarkXPress 9 it is also easier than ever to edit text, clone design elements, create image grids, and duplicate objects or entire pages, and more.
