Necessary operations for multifunction devices/printers during the scheduled electricity blackouts conducted by TEPCO and Tohoku Electric Power
Thursday 24. March 2011 - We appreciate your business with Fuji Xerox.
Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and Tohoku Electric Power Co., Ltd. are executing scheduled electric blackouts in the limited areas where they supply electricity, due to the impacts of the earthquake in the Tohoku District/offshore of the Pacific Ocean that occurred on March 11.
As for Fuji Xerox multifunction devices and printers that you use, we recommend you to turn off the main power following the procedures below before the blackout begins, not to corrupt the data in the devices and to avoid malfunctioning, which could occur in case the blackout starts when the devices are running.
How to turn off the main power of a product:
Please follow the procedure written in the operation manual, and turn off the main power. If you don’t have the operation manual, please access following URL (only in Japanese) and search the product model that you use. How to save energy with your multifunction devices/printers:
If you wish to save energy with the products you use, please follow the procedures below.
Remove the power supply plug of products unused. (Please remove the plug AFTER you turn off the main power.)
Please note that faxes are not received while the main power is turned off.
If your product model does not incorporate a hard disc drive, please print the data saved in the machine’s memory first, and then turn off the main power. The data may be erased if you turn the power off while it’s still in the memory.
Shorten the transition time to low-power mode or sleep mode.
Please refer the items regarding “low-power mode” and “sleep mode” in your operation manual.
In case you don’t have the operation manual, please access the URLs above.
