Personnel news: Dr. Kai Hoffmann heads Mechatronic Systems business sector at Plauen

Friday 25. February 2011 - Greater integration of business activities as well as uniform processes are major targets in the implementation of manroland’s growth strategy.

As a result, the Plauen production site will be organized as the business sector for Mechatronic Systems. The Plauen factory is a Competence Center for industrial manufacturing and component assembly and produces for both manroland and third parties. As of 1 March 2011 Dr. Kai Hoffmann (43), previously Executive Vice President of the Production and Logistics business unit at the Plauen site, will be Executive Vice President of the Mechatronic Systems business sector. In this function he will report to Executive Board member Dr. Markus Rall who is responsible for the sheetfed printing systems as well as cross-site production.
manroland Mechatronic Systems will deliver a wide range of manufacturing parts plus assembled and tested assemblies to the Augsburg and Offenbach production sites. Besides that, the business sector offers third-party customers the opportunity to expand their production capacity through having manroland take over and complete projects, and benefit from the company’s internationally recognized expertise in manufacturing plant and equipment that works in tolerances measured in micrometers.
Well-coordinated teams made up of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, industrial mechanics, lathe/milling machine operators, IT specialists, electricians, electronic engineers and mechatronics engineers work with modern machines for processing workpieces weighing up to eight tonnes and special technologies for accuracies of Ra 0.2.
