Announcing Newspapers Canada
Wednesday 05. January 2011 - On January 5, 2011, the Canadian Newspaper Association (CNA) and the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) will launch a new name: Newspapers Canada (Journaux Canadiens for French Canada).
The move to one name allows the industry to present a united front for marketing purposes. The new name, logo and tagline are presented below.
John Hinds, President and CEO of CNA/CCNA highlights, “The two associations have been working together under a co-management agreement for more than two years. Many of the organizations’ activities and resources have been combined. As well, many of our initiatives (such as the Freedom of Information Audit) are applicable across all newspapers. The new branding reflects the current industry and its future. It was designed to build off our roots while demonstrating our strength and growth in delivering news across multiple platforms.”
While both associations’ structure and governance remain, the single name provides one source for our combined offerings. The two association websites have been combined and updated and are now presented at
