1960-2010: Rexam Le Tréport tells the story of a half-century of know-how

Wednesday 29. December 2010 - On 1 October 2010, Rexam celebrated the 50th anniversary of their site at Le Tréport, France. For this occasion, Rexam opened their doors to their employees' families and their customers for two days of festivities designed to trace the highlights of 5 decades of industrial activity.

This plant houses the Personal Care and Healthcare activities of the Rexam group’s Plastic Packaging Division. With over 600 employees and 4 production units – Mini-products, Cosmetics, Fragrances and Healthcare – spread out over 25,000 m2, Rexam’s site at Le Tréport is notably known for its expertise in assembly and plastic injection. Today, it is one of the largest industrial sites in France for plastic injection presses (over 100).
In Healthcare, the site at Le Tréport is specialised in state-of-the-art drug delivery systems such as spray pumps, metering valves, continuous valves, applicators and complete systems for treatment in the ENT, pulmonary and dermal spheres.
The plant is currently equipped with Class 8 cleanrooms, workshops with controlled environments and/or laminar flow machines, and produces in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices that meet the requirements applied by pharmaceutical companies, both for the drug and for its container.
Rexam’s “Healthcare” division is a recognised specialist in drug delivery systems and medical devices for the pharmaceutical, medical and biotechnology industries.
Building on their core expertise in plastic injection, injection blow-moulding and high-speed automated assembly, Rexam Healthcare designs, develops and manufactures innovative packaging, including containers and closures, drug delivery devices, metering pumps and valves as well as medical devices designed to improve patients’ health. With 16 sites around the world totally focused on healthcare, Rexam healthcare supports their customers with in-depth regulatory knowledge and GMP compliance.
In the beauty field, the site is known for the excellence of its dispensers (fragrance pumps, lotion pumps and mini-products) with a line of products that meets the demands of the leading names in perfume and cosmetics around the world.
Created in 2007, Rexam’s “Personal Care” Division is a leading supplier of packaging solutions; with its worldwide production capacity, the division is the preferred partner of many perfume, body care, hygiene and cleaning product manufacturers.
The division is one of the leaders in the market for perfume and lotion pumps as well as for perfume and cosmetic caps. It is also No. 1 in the field of samplers (perfume and lotion) and mechanical foam pumps. It is the leader in lipstick cases and No. 2 for compacts. In Household Care applications, it is the leading manufacturer of specific large-volume products, with particular expertise in the design and production of innovative packaging, multi-injection moulding and moulded labelling. Furthermore, it offers a complete range of high value-added services in personalised injection moulding.
