Management changeover at Verlagsgruppe NEWS
Thursday 02. December 2010 - Oliver Voigt, Publisher and CEO of Verlagsgruppe NEWS, will leave the company on 31 December 2010 to tackle new professional challenges.
The Verlagsgruppe NEWS advisory board has unanimously appointed Matthias Schönwandt as his successor. Schönwandt, 45, has a wealth of experience in the publishing business. From 1999 to 2002, he sat on Berliner Verlag’s publishing board and was in charge of Ad Sales for Berliner Zeitung and Berliner Kurier. As managing director of Deutscher Supplementverlag since 2002, he was able to significantly increase the circulation of rtv magazine. He also advanced the implementation of a new digital strategy and the expansion of the publisher’s foreign holdings and was able to considerably improve their profitability. Finally, he successfully reorganized Supplementverlag and its TV Information Services subsidiary into the rtv media group and secured long-term growth in its revenues and profits.
