Torstar Announces Appointment of Linda Hughes to Board of Directors

Wednesday 03. November 2010 - Torstar Corporation (TSX:TS.B) today announced the appointment of Linda Hughes to Torstar's Board of Directors.

Ms. Hughes is the Chancellor of the University of Alberta. She held various editorial roles at The Edmonton Journal from 1976 until 1992, and served as President & Publisher from 1992 until 2006. In addition, she served as the General Manager Alberta for Canwest Media Works from 2003 until 2005. Ms. Hughes is a member of the Board of Directors of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, the Edmonton Community Foundation and the Edmonton Homeless Commission.
