REXAM LAUNCHES SLIDING LOOK MIRRORED LIPSTICK FOR PERFECT – AND FUN – ON-THE-GO APPLICATION

Wednesday 03. November 2010 - The Sliding Look mirrored lipstick launched by the Rexam Personal Care Division, designed with a hidden mirror for precise, on-the-go application with a huge fun-factor, is the firm’s latest brand-building innovation in this packaging category.

Sliding Look’s large, hidden mirror is integrated into – and, thus, protected by — the lipstick cap and easily accessed by the consumer upon opening the product. A special, robust design assures smooth, stable mirror access for the life of the product – and allows the end-user to retract the mirror manually, or automatically, upon replacement of the cap.

For consumers, the key benefit is easy and precise lipstick application anytime, day or night. For brand owners, the Rexam Sliding Look lipstick allows new levels of flexibility in terms of branding, accent and shade matching. For example, a separate cap top plug enables embossing/debossing, specific finishesand/or shade matching for optimal customization and brand recognition. The mirror’s tab can be customized in different colors and finishes, for intuitive opening and enhanced shelf-appeal.

“Our research tells us that consumers value convenience and the ability to use their products while onthe- go – and we know how women carry mirrors in their bag for those occasional touch-ups,” said Pauline Uhlen – Color Cosmetics Product Manager, Rexam Personal Care Division. “Consumers constantly search for fresh new features – and our customers benefit from new packaging solutions that surprise and delight the consumer. This is the heart of the Rexam value proposition, as the global leader in lipsticks – to create packaging solutions that build brands through differentiation and product excitement.”

The elegant design of the Sliding Look lipstick features an 80/20 soft square design for a fashionable look and feel. The cap and base is made of ABS and the glass mirror is held in place with a PC frame.
