Best Color Press Ltd Chooses KBA Rapida 105 41-inch press with Board and UV Capabilities

Tuesday 26. October 2010 - Mid-August 2010 installation makes company the only printer in western Canada with ability to print the thickest board jobs

KBA North America, a global press manufacturer based in Dallas, Texas, announces that Best Color Press Limited, a leading trade printer headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, has purchased a new KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color UV and conventional press with coater. It was installed in August 2010 and began full production in mid-September.

“We were attracted to the KBA Rapida 105 for several reasons,” says Sunny Chan, CEO of Best Color. “First, we wanted to expand our ability to print on board substrate as well as continue to print on standard paper stock. The KBA Rapida 105 provides us with the ability to print on the thickest board in the industry, which no other press manufacturer could offer. Now we are the only printer in western Canada with the ability to print the thickest board jobs. Secondly, we found that KBA, unlike its competitors, is able to integrate its UV system into the design of the press. Having an inline UV capability gives us the ability to produce dazzling high-gloss UV applications as well as quickly coating and sealing the job. We’ve always been impressed with the variety of high-quality UV-coated jobs that KBA presses can produce. Our new KBA Rapida 105 will allow us to move into new markets.”

The KBA Rapida 105 41-inch six-color sheetfed press is fully automated with a bevy of unique KBA technology such as the popular Logotronic management system and the KBA Densitronic Professional color control system offers. The press being installed at Best Color has the ability to print on thick substrates up to 48 pt.

This is Best Color’s first KBA press. Chan was impressed with KBA’s ability to partner with his firm and appreciated how KBA lavished attention on his needs. “We believe that our new KBA Rapida 105 is a significant investment in our company,” says Chan. “It offers us new solutions to our customer base and provides us with a unique advantage over our competitors. For us, this is a new chapter in our business and the beginning of another era of growth.”

Established in 1989, Best Color Press Limited serves as a leading trade printer. The company is focused on being environmentally-responsible and has earned the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody certification, Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation CIPEC Leader designation, Greenworks Environmental Recognition Award, the Mayor’s Environmental Achievement Award, and CleanPrint BC Environmental Policy Certificate.
