Brown Printing Purchases Industrys First 75-Inch Goss Sunday 3000 Press
Thursday 30. September 2010 - Brown Printing Company today announced the acquisition of the worlds first Goss Sunday 3000 web press with an extended 75-inch web width. The purchase underscores Browns commitment to building the most modern platform in the industry.
The 4-unit 32 page press will be capable of producing saddle stitched and perfect bound product up to 9″ wide, a first for single-circumference web presses. Brown will equip the press with closed loop color, as well as automated register and ribbon controls that increase efficiency while maintaining the high level of quality Browns customers have come to expect.
“Browns facilities are among the most modern and efficient in the country. In fact, the last Sunday 3000 press installed in the U.S., back in 2008, was also purchased by Brown,” explained Volker Petersen, president and CEO. “We continually look for ways to improve our productivity in order to better serve our customers. Browns history of strong reinvestment puts the best equipment, service and technology at our customers fingertips.”
“Brown Printing has been a longstanding leader in bringing the advantages of the latest high-speed, wide-web technology to its catalog and publication customers,” according to Jochen Meissner, Goss International president and CEO. “We are grateful for this opportunity to extend our relationship and work with the team at Brown on another groundbreaking project.”
Installation of the new Goss Sunday press in Browns Waseca, MN facility will begin in the spring and is expected to be completed by July 2011.
