Respected Industry Leaders in Journalism and Fashion Named to Key Editorial Posts at T: The New York Times Style Magazine
Tuesday 03. August 2010 - Respected industry leaders in journalism and fashion have been named to key editorial posts at T: The New York Times Style Magazine, a leading style and fashion magazine published by The New York Times.
Michelle Kessler-Sanders has been named fashion director and will start on September 7 and Jacob Brown has been named features director and will start in mid-August and both will report to T Editor Sally Singer. These are the first staff appointments by Ms. Singer, who became the editor of T on July 5.
“Michelle is a highly respected leader in the fashion world and has great perspective on style, news and trends in the industry, as well as an editor’s sharp eye,” said Ms. Singer. “Jacob is a talented writer and editor who possesses great acumen for the sophisticated content that T is known for the world over. He will be a tremendous asset in developing the celebrity covers, one of the signature features of T.”
A veteran of the fashion industry, Ms. Kessler-Sanders has held many prominent positions in the field, including senior vice president at Donna Karan, president of Miu Miu USA, vice president and fashion director at Juicy Couture and accessories director at Vogue. She has extensive experience with many leading industry brands such as Giorgio Armani, Prada and Calvin Klein.
Mr. Brown has been an editor at V and VMAN magazines for the last three and a half years. Before he was named editor of VMAN, he served as features editor. He has contributed to various publications, including Paper Magazine and TheAtlantic.com.
Ms. Singer was previously at Vogue, where she oversaw the fashion news and features departments. Before that, she was a fashion director at New York Magazine, style editor at Elle and the commissioning editor for features at British Vogue.
