In addition to unveiling the InfoPrint 5000 (multi-purpose) MP, new workflow software and additional InfoPrint 4100 models, InfoPrint is introducing its key solutions at the show — Precision Marketing and Workflow — backed by demonstrations of customer applications.
At IPEX, Birmingham NEC, 18th – 25th May 2010, InfoPrint Solutions will also reveal its new branding and logo as it becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh Company Ltd. on July 1, 2010.
InfoPrint Solutions will be part of Ricoh’s 1400 m2 square stand in Hall 12, one of the top 10 largest stands at the show. The stand will feature:
The new InfoPrint 5000 MP with monochrome inkjet and MICR support

The latest InfoPrint ProcessDirector (IPPD), Automated Document Factory (ADF) and InfoPrint Manager workflow
Examples of Precision Marketing and Workflow solutions from UK customers Transactis and dsicmm
Market-leading InfoPrint 5000 continuous forms colour inkjet
InfoPrint Pro C900 AFP cutsheet printing for data centres
InfoPrint 100 continuous forms, low-cost compact laser printer
The new InfoPrint 5000 MP platform adds monochrome and MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) inkjet printing to the colour InfoPrint 5000 family and is designed to help customers easily transition to colour as their needs evolve.
The InfoPrint 5000 MP is compatible with existing full-colour InfoPrint 5000 models, and provides customers with investment protection through its flexible, modular design and three speed points supporting low, medium and high-volume printing.
According to analyst firm InfoTrends, for the second year in a row InfoPrint Solutions is the market share leader in continuous-feed colour inkjet systems installed in the US and Western Europe. In 2009 InfoPrint Solutions held the number one position with more than 30 percent market share. Since entering the market in 2007, InfoPrint Solutions has placed 35 percent of the systems installed in the US and Western Europe. In the same time period InfoPrint Solutions and its partner, Screen, have installed more than half of all continuous-feed color inkjet systems.
InfoPrint Solutions is also introducing the latest version of its InfoPrint ProcessDirector workflow software offering enhanced compatibility with Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms; a new command centre feature for centralised management of multiple InfoPrint ProcessDirector systems; and new usability features.
IPEX provides the setting for the debut of the latest InfoPrint 4100 models, offering AFP customers monochrome eletrophotographic continuous forms printing with colour emulation as companies look to upgrade to digital colour. The new models include: enhanced print quality and paper handling; new service features to increase reliability; and expanded toner support for better print quality, higher toner yield and support for heavier paper stock. The introduction of Version 7 toner not only improves overall print quality but also overall media flexibility especially on some of the heavier weight forms. The broad range of supported media gives customers a distinct competitive advantage.
“We are showing delegates how we continue to differentiate ourselves from the competition with our solutions-based approach. We start by using our expertise and knowledge to solve customer problems then design and implement an appropriate solution,” said Benoit Chatelard, senior vice president and general manager, InfoPrint Solutions EMEA. “Our expertise helps enterprises and print-for-pay customers increase revenue and reduce costs in their highly complex digital output environments.”
Precision Marketing and Workflow in Action: Transactis and dsicmm
Precision marketing enables businesses to discover the power of targeted, timely and relevant communications. One of InfoPrint Solutions’ precision marketing adopters is data marketing specialist Transactis, who produces and delivers 800,000 statements each week for leading UK home-shopping company Shop Direct Group’s five million customers. In addition to providing specific financial details, the mailings contain product and service information geared to the potential needs of each customer.
At IPEX, InfoPrint Solutions will show how the flexibility of an InfoPrint 5000 and InfoPrint workflow environment allows Shop Direct Group to personalise and quickly change customer offers. For instance, according to customer type and business need, seasonal offers, credit terms or service messages can be added to all statements. By merging overdue and arrears letters with statements, Shop Direct Group’s printing costs have been reduced while eliminating pre-printed stationary and cutting paper and postage costs.
Martyn Viquerat of Transactis will be revealing more at the Ricoh Theatre at stand Stand 12-D130 at 12 noon on Tuesday May 18th: “Why miss out on looking this good? How Transactis redesigned Shop Direct Group’s statements to meet the needs of the Consumer Credit Act 2006.”
InfoPrint Solutions will also show IPEX delegates how dsicmm, the country’s largest print and direct mail organisation, redesigned M&G’s investor reporting to be personalised, more relevant, more concise and engaging. In the process, dsicmm stripped more than 40 tonnes of paper out of each of bi-annual investor update print runs.
A staggering 450,000 packs were processed and printed on the InfoPrint 5000 in less than two weeks when the application was first launched in December 2007. It has since won numerous industry awards for innovation in print, demonstrating how documents can be re-engineered to produce enhanced customer communication along with environmental benefits.
Offering customers the flexibility of best of breed solutions, InfoPrint Solutions resells and supports a number of third-party products in TransPromo and print management.
