Objet showcases high precision rapid prototyping capabilities at Medtec 2010
Thursday 29. April 2010 - Well-suited to a broad range of medical applications, Objet is exhibited the benefits of its ultra-thin-layer high precision 3D printers at Medtech, Birmingham, today.
According to Chris Baker, Objet Geometries UK sales manager, Objet rapid prototyping solutions are used extensively in the medical industry for applications that include the creation of surgical and diagnostic aids, the development of prosthetics and medical products, tissue engineering and the design of medical equipment.
“The meticulous accuracy, ease of model sterilization and rapid build time of Objet technology is what makes it so popular within the medical industry,” Baker states. “Models are highly resilient, enabling drilling and fixing with similar characteristics as human bone tissue. Furthermore, because of the minimal post-print clean-up requirement, it’s possible to build anatomical structures as thin, delicate and complex as a blood vessel.”
Objet’s exhibit illustrated the advantages of its wide range of rapid prototyping solutions, including the market-proven EdenTM professional line and the affordable AlarisTM30 desktop system, both of which are based on patented PolyJetTM 3D printing technology. The ConnexTM family, demonstrated live, is based on PolyJet MatrixTM technology and is the world’s only multi-material 3D printing system available on the market today. All Objet systems create the accurate, smooth and highly detailed 3D models required for medical applications.
Baker comments, “Medtec 2010 provides an excellent opportunity for us to connect with customers and demonstrate the clear advantages of speed, precision and quality provided by Objet rapid prototyping.”
