Ricoh completes Infotec and IKON integration
Tuesday 20. April 2010 - Ricoh UK has today announced that it has officially completed the integration of both the Infotec and IKON businesses and brands into the parent company.
The completion marks the final step of a process begun in January 2007 when Ricoh announced its acquisition of production print specialist, Infotec (formerly Danka Europe) and in September 2008 with the acquisition of IKON, the world’s largest independent channel for document management systems and services.
The integration consolidates the vast expertise of the three companies and confirms Ricoh as an innovative world leader in document management offering customers a combination of hardware, software and services that includes consulting, outsourcing and managed print services. Ricoh employs almost 4,000 people in the UK and the newly integrated UK organisation will continue to have its headquarters in Feltham, Middlesex.
David Mills, CEO, Ricoh UK said; “The completion of this integration means that customers now benefit from the combined expertise of the three companies and a holistic approach to document strategy that offers greater rewards including an enhanced product portfolio and streamlined sales and service processes. Harmonising the back office functions of the three organisations has freed up valuable time allowing us greater flexibility to be more responsive to the frontline needs and requirements of our customers as we work with them to help drive competitive edge.”
By integrating former resellers into its organisations, Ricoh is eliminating any duplication of operational, administrative or sales functions which will ultimately lead to a more competitive proposition for its customers. Current customers will experience a seamless continuity of service and no change to the established channels of communication regarding sales, service and supplies. The completed integration also means Ricoh now offers a more professional services orientated proposition including document process consulting and document outsourcing capabilities that closely align document management needs with the overall business objectives of its customers.
Mills continued, “We are now in a fantastic position to offer customers a comprehensive range of products supported by a consistent commitment to outstanding service so we can continue to help them add greater value to their businesses. Im confident Ricoh is now in an excellent position to take a leadership position in the market and we look forward to unveiling a range of innovative new products as 2010 progresses.”
