Printbylaser adds to its shopping list with Suprasetter order
Wednesday 13. January 2010 - In the past six months Printbylaser has announced investment in a Speedmaster SM 52 Anicolor press (which has already clocked up 9 million impressions), Axis Control spectral colour measurement for its SM 74 and colour management tools to enable it to calibrate its presses in-house and comply with ISO 12647-2 colour management standards.
Now it has returned to Heidelberg UK to order an additional CtP device.
The company already has a Suprasetter H75 and now it is adding a Suprasetter A75 to meet increased demand for B3 short run work.
“Operating 24 hours a day, five or six days a week means we need maximum flexibility and the reassurance of having back up plate-making in an emergency,” says Chris Murley, director. “Its a vital part of the printing process and having changed one of our B2 presses for a B3 to meet the increased demand for short run, very fast turnround work we need many more plates.”
The first high spec CtP system runs with a Mutli Cassette Loader. The new one will complement the existing machine with a Single Cassette Loader and gives maximum productivity through peak times offering flexibility both internally and externally. Along with this it will be delivered along with all the Prinect add ons, including Color Toolbox and Pressroom Manager, to take advantage of current JDF/JMF working practises maximising efficiencies throughout the business, that the Washington, Tyne and Wear company is aiming to expand on in the new year.
“The Anicolor has been brilliant and has attracted a lot of digital work our way. Our quality is second to none, offering top level litho, yet in a digital environment so we need a robust and quality CtP device to match.
Our shortest run to date was 20 posters, out highest a 70,000 run in various sections. There really is no average on the Anicolor,” says Mr Murley.
Printbylaser already holds ISO 9001 quality and ISO14001 environmental accreditations. It handles a range of printing contracts for the NHS Trusts, many other government bodies and also produces a wide range of colour work for Communisis and its customers.
