First BOBST AMBITION for the UK
Wednesday 06. January 2010 - A print company in the South of England has become the first in the UK to order a BOBST AMBITION folder-gluer.
Lee Alton, Product Manager Folder-Gluers for Bobst Group in the UK & Ireland said: “We designed the AMBITION with commercial printers and trade finishers particularly in mind. It lets users produce products from presentation folders, wallets, and brochures, through to packaging and CD/DVD sleeves.”
On delivery in March 2010, the purchaser intends to use the AMBITION to replace an old folder-gluer and so gain efficiencies from the 300 metre per minute running speed and quick, easy set up of the new machine.
Because the purchaser is noted for high quality print, including printing with special varnishes and printing onto foil, the feeder unit specified on their AMBITION has been optimized to handle light and delicate materials.
The design of the AMBITION means that the purchaser can retro-fit additional functionality at a later date. BOBST is currently trialling a new version of its highly successful capacity folder device on a similar AMBITION folder-gluer at its Lausanne, Switzerland design and manufacturing site.
Lee Alton said: “The AMBITION has been designed and priced to make it ideal for printers who, perhaps, use a paper folder to make wallets and folders but need to handle larger quantities or a wider range of materials.”
The AMBITION folder gluer was launched last year and is available in three widths – 50, 76 and 106 cm.
