BERICAP decorated with Commendation Award

Monday 16. November 2009 - For his VUN SK 24/12 AF BERICAP was awarded with a "Commendation Award" at the "Cans of the Year Award 2009".

End of October 2009, during the Canmaker Summits in Dubai, U.E.A., BERICAP was awarded with a “Commendation Award” in the context of “Cans of the Year Awards 2009” for its new closure solution VUN SK 24/12 AF in the category for Ends, Caps and Closures
BERICAP, one of the leading global closure manufacturers, in co-operation with a producer of aerosol cans in North America, has developed a new closure solution for aerosol cans. The new VUN SK 24/12 AF closure was recently introduced to the North American market.
In common with other industries the metal packaging industry needs to develop new closure solutions to counter the general cost pressures. With regard to aerosol cans, special requirements for safety and functionality must be ensured all times. The closing process at the packer/filler requests high efficiencies and last but not least the closure must perform satisfactorily for the consumer.
Having understood these general conditions, BERICAP has developed the new closure VUN SK 24/12 AF. The major difference to the previous 3-piece version is the fact, that the new construction uses 2 pieces only. This is a significant modification and demonstrates a considerable weight saving of about 42%. The closure can be supplied with or without a child resistant (CR) feature to guard against opening by children especially where hazardous products are involved. The closure fulfils the safety norm US 16 CFR § 1700.20 as well as ISO 8317 in Europe. To protect sensitive chemical products against evaporation the closure can be equipped with an aluminium foil liner in addition.
