GEO Continues its Internationalization: Ninth GEO Website Launches in Bulgaria

Thursday 29. October 2009 - The ninth GEO website launches in Bulgaria today at www.geo-bg.bg. As part of GEO's international concept eight websites have already gone online this year ˆ in Finland, Spain, Russia and five other eastern European countries.

Gruner + Jahr International and its local partner, the WAZ Group from Essen ˆ
one of the biggest publishers in Bulgaria ˆ are relying on a centralized, very
cost-effective model: the website design and technology were developed by G+J
in Hamburg. This tried and tested approach is based on a white label community
platform (WLCP) that offers all the functions of a state-of-the-art website
without any brand-specific layout.

Editorial responsibility lies with the local Bulgarian GEO editorial team who
produce their own content in addition to the German content, giving the site a
local flavor. The Bulgarian sister site takes most of its content from the
German GEO.de editorial team.
