The Gerresheimer flacon for ‘Passion Secrète’ delivers emotional symbolism in a new way

Tuesday 27. October 2009 - The Gerresheimer flacon for ‘Passion Secrète’ delivers emotional symbolism in a new way

No fear of clichés: modern design focusing on clear lines

A large heart made of glass with a big bow as the closure – over the top for a modern perfume flacon? The exact oppo¬site is proven by the perfumery house SPPC Paris Bleu with the new dream packaging realized by Gerresheimer for the brand Yves de Sistelle. ‘Passion Secrète’ is the name of the new feminine fragrance. Its spellbinding container is now on display at Luxe Pack Monaco (October 21 – 23, 2009, Halle Ravel, Booth RC 20).

“Such symbolism can always be a knife edge. As it appears here however, it stands for the really high art of modern emotional design and maximum technical perfection”, says Burkhard Lingen¬berg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerres¬heimer Group. Certainly nobody who has seen this flacon even once will seriously be able to deny this.

The beautiful little bottle consists of clear, immaculately smooth glass. Far removed from customary pictures its effect is disarmingly simple – imitating a natural heart rather than the overdrawn cliché with exaggerated curves. ‘Passion Secrète,- secret love – exudes warmth and sensuality, enlivened by the delicate apricot tint of the perfume nuanced with ripe red, and its name printed generously large in filigree black handwriting.

The bow – as a symbol in danger of appearing just as clichéd as the heart itself – creates a successful highlight here. Lovingly styled – but unadorned – in clear plastic it highlights the emotionality of the flacon just as much as its clear contemporary lines: dismissing every suggestion of a cliché.
