Polar 66 takes on an educational role
Wednesday 05. August 2009 - A Polar 66 has been installed at Print Services at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. This replaces a larger 21 year old model but is more suited to the inplants current needs, primarily digital and standard SRA3 and SRA4 formats.
There is no litho equipment although the printing operation does also offer design, typesetting and print buying services in addition to outputting teaching and promotional material and other printed products required by an educational establishment.
“We had a look at a number of models but we wanted to stick to Heidelberg and Polar if we could,” says print manager Michael Bennett. “We like the name, reputation and build of the Polar guillotine, and the guillotine going out had been very reliable.”
The Polar 66 will operated 9am to 5pm daily. It is more programmable than its predecessor and the staff are finding it easy to adapt to. There are seven staff within Print Services at the University of East Anglia.
