MITSUBISHI IMAGING PRESENTS CHEMISTRY FREE AND PROCESSLESS PLATEMAKING FOR WORLDWIDE PRINTING THERMOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION
Friday 19. June 2009 - Mitsubishi Imaging, the leader in paper and polyester plate systems, today announced it will be presenting its award winning chemistry-free and processless platemaking system, Thermal DigiPlate during the WPT conference on Friday July 10, 2009.
Thermal DigiPlate is a complete Computer-to-Plate system utilizing the most innovative plate and platesetter technology. Drawing on years of experience in CTP polyester and paper-based plate technologies, as well as thermographic paper, Mitsubishi Thermal DigiPlate uses a patented thermal fusing technology to create a high-contrast image on the plate without chemical development, wash-off or ablation. Requiring absolutely no chemicals, toner or ink ribbon, TDP is both easy and less costly to maintain. Environmentally friendly, the system produces no waste except for the plate itself.
“Thermal DigiPlate is perfect for Thermographers because it delivers fast roll-up on press and very good ink coverage,” said Colleen Molkenbur, Senior Product Manager for Graphic Arts Materials at Mitsubishi Imaging. “Customers report that they get saleable prints after just the first sheet.”
TDP plates are paper-based and can reproduce screens up to 120lpi. The TDP-459 platesetter can image up to 60 plates per hour and output plates up to 18.1″ x 20.7″. It is an excellent choice for Thermographers who want an eco-friendly and high-volume platemaking solution for consistent single/spot color printing plates.
