MHI Vial Filling and Closing Machine from Bosch

With the new MHI 2020 vial filling and closing machine, Bosch Packaging Technology is embracing the special needs for clinical trials and pilot production of liquid pharmaceuticals.

Friday 22. May 2009 - With the new MHI 2020 vial filling and closing machine, Bosch Packaging Technology is embracing the special needs for clinical trials and pilot production of liquid pharmaceuticals.

The MHI works with a self-monitoring and self-controlled filling process. This intelligent interaction of the transport system, In-Process Control, filling and stoppering stations ensures that each and every container is precisely filled and closed. The MHI combination filling station can optionally perform filling with either piston pumps or rolling diaphragm pumps to cover the widest variety of products.

“Since only programmable servo drives are used, all production parameters can be saved and recalled in a recipe, without any manual adjustments to be made”, explains Dieter Bandtel, the product manager for vial processing at Bosch Packaging Technology. “Especially for toxic, highly active and sensitive products, each ingress into the filling area that can be eliminated is a plus for the product quality and for the product safety.”

Additionally the MHI is also suitable for operation in an isolator system. The small space requirement, easily accessible stations and integrated test technology, which makes maintenance intensive sensor systems unnecessary, allows the seamless integration of the MHI into various containment systems.
