Running lean is the theme for Heidelbergs national open house
Thursday 14. May 2009 - Heidelberg will hold its National Open House from 9 to 11 June 2009 at its main Tamworth showroom and it promises that this will provide a "Fitness programme for printers".
Jim Todd, sales director of Heidelberg, says: “Lean manufacturing aims to improve and speed up production by eliminating waste and continually improving processes and procedures. We have the equipment, consumables, workflow and business analysis capabilities to help printers meet the challenges of todays market. At this open house we will combine presentations and expert information points to ensure each printer visiting our open house goes away with new ideas and options for their specific business needs.”
There are presentations on both B1 and B2 manufacturing solutions and there will be experts on hand to discuss issues such as energy management, overall equipment efficiency, environmental solutions, value added finishing, finance, consumables and service.
The open houses will run from 8.30am to 5pm daily with both a breakfast and lunch service.
Presses on show include four Speedmasters: an XL 105-10-P; an XL 75-5+LX-C (L means coating and C means Carton format); a SM 74-5+L; and a SM 52-4+L Anicolor.
Feeding the presses will be plates from Heidelbergs own manufactured Suprasetter CtP devices.
In postpress visitors can see the Diana Pro folder-gluer, TH 82 buckle and KH78 combination Stahlfolders, ST 450 saddle-stitcher and Polar 92XT guillotine.
These will be connected by a range of Prinect workflow modules including the latest Prinect Scheduler and Postpress Manager. Spectrophotometric measurement, which is the right equipment for printers wanting to calibrate and print to ISO 12647-2 colour standards, will also be demonstrated.
