Ricoh participates in Eco-Patent Commons

Friday 03. April 2009 - The Eco-Patent Commons is a special business initiative launched by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Geneva.

Ricoh recently pledged a patent for the recycling of printer cartridges. Ricoh’s approach is based on a mechanism for counting the number of uses beyond which point the user is encouraged to trade in the cartridge for recycling.

The Eco-Patent Commons was founded by WBCSD, IBM, Nokia, Pitney Bowes and Sony.
